There’s a car show as well as a Shelter Animal Olympics this Saturday.

The Friends of the East Union Cemetery are staging a car show Saturday, July 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Manteca Golf Course, 305 N. Union Road.

The day of entry is $35 and includes a free slice of pizza and beverage.

There will be sponsored awards, dash plaques, and a raffle.

Animal Shelter Olympics

The 2026 Shelter Animal Olympics are being hosted this year by Tracy Animal Services.

Thea day of friendly competition featuring adoptable shelter dogs from across San Joaquin County takes place Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Plasencia Fields, 2200 Krohn Road, in Tracy.

Participating agencies include Manteca Animal Services, Tracy Animal Services, Lathrop Animal Services, Stockton Animal Services, and the Pets & Pals Animal Shelter based in Lathrop.

Watch adoptable dogs compete in the agility course, boot camp, hurdles, obedience course, and scent search.

You are invited to bring your friends and family to cheer on the shelter dogs as they showcase their skills and personalities.

Manteca Animal Services will be closed on Saturday, July 25, as the staff will be attending the Shelter Animal Olympics. We encourage everyone to come out and support our team — we’d love to see you there.
