The City of Lathrop announced Friday that new Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon equipment will be installed near Lathrop High on Spartan Way.

Work will include putting in poles, lights, and signage.

“The new signal is one of several safety projects that have been planned in advance to support safer walking and driving conditions in our school areas,” said the City of Lathrop via social media.

For that, the road will be closed today (Saturday) for work.

The signals will not be turned on until Wednesday, Sept. 24.

The City, meanwhile, has coordinated closely with officials from Lathrop High, sharing updates with students and families.
