Manteca Unified School District new student registration for the 2026-27 school year will open on Monday, Jan. 12.

The registration period is for families enrolling students who will be new to MUSD, for all grade levels, Transitional Kindergarten (TK) to 12th grade.

Families are encouraged to register as early as possible.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is the year between preschool and kindergarten that helps 4- year-olds build strong early learning skills and gives them a developmentally appropriate head start.

Through purposeful learning, students develop early reading, literacy, and math skills, as well as communication and self-regulation strategies. Most importantly, they build an early love for learning.

As more families choose TK, children entering kindergarten are more prepared and confident, with stronger foundational skills, such as letter identification and number recognition.

Children who participate in TK are performing stronger and more proficiently in kindergarten, first grade, and beyond.

TK is a free, full-day learning program with curriculum aligned with instruction up to third grade. TK offers a lower staff-to-student ratio. All age-eligible children within Manteca Unified boundary areas can attend a TK program.

Children are eligible for TK for the 2026-27 school year if they turn four (4) years old on, or before, September 1, 2026.

More information about TK is available at http://www.mantecausd.net/TK.
