One of the highlights of Main Street Day in downtown Ripon is the car show.

Featured will be an array of vehicles – clean and souped up – along Main Street and Stockton Avenue.

The 36th annual event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This marks the return of Main Street Day which was postponed a year ago due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pre-registration deadline for Car Show entries is this Friday. Cost is $35 (first 50 will receive goodie bags, car show shirts, two free pancake breakfast tickets and a pair of tickets for the big drawing).

Registration, however, will continue all the way to the day of the event.

Cost will vary.

Car Show registration from Oct. 2 to Oct. 1 is $45, with the same-day registration being set at $55.

Check-in and same-day registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.

Main Street Day promises to resemble that of the past.

This includes the Ripon Consolidated Fire District hosting the pancake breakfast, the Ripon High chapter of Future Farmers of America bringing in the petting zoo, and the Ripon Memorial Library conducting the book sale.

And let’s not forget about the assortment of vendors, performances on the Community Stage, food trucks, and the fun activities for all.

In addition, many of the downtown shops and restaurants will be open, welcoming locals and visitors.
