Gold Dust Pizza brings Its Signature Slice to Manteca
GOLD DUST PIZZA

Gold Dust Pizza has officially opened its sixth location, transforming the former Mavericks Pizza space on East Louise Avenue in just 20 days. The family-owned business, known for its handcrafted recipes and deep community ties, has already made a strong impression among locals.

Rick and Martha Harmon, longtime fans of the Ripon location, said they’re excited that now they “can get their favorite pizza closer to home.”

Founded by Bob and Monica “Moe” Willey, Gold Dust Pizza is a multi-generational operation with family members playing key roles across the business. Their son serves as both chief operating officer and chief technology officer, overseeing daily operations and spearheading the brand’s digital evolution. He developed a custom mobile app and integrated a Toast POS system to streamline ordering and reduce mistakes. “The online orders are epic. It literally changes the game for pizza,” he said.

The Manteca location has been the brand’s most successful launch to date. “Every person that’s come in for Manteca has been unbelievably kind and gracious,” Moe Willey said. “It was the best opening of any Gold Dust—the busiest and the smoothest and the best clientele that we’ve had so far.”

Gold Dust Pizza’s culinary philosophy is rooted in tradition and innovation. The dough recipe has remained unchanged since 1984, and the team makes its own spice blends for pizza sauce and ranch dressing from scratch. The style is described as “purely Italian, but with an American influence,” offering bold, flavorful creations that stand apart from typical pizzerias.

Gold Dust Pizza’s classic pepperoni — one of their most popular picks — is available by the slice during lunch hours, making it a quick and satisfying option for midday cravings.

Beyond the kitchen, the Willey family is deeply committed to community engagement. “We connect with the churches, the schools,” Moe Willey said. “We make sure that we donate heavily for every location that we’re at, because we’re a family that believes just because you have a lot doesn’t mean you don’t give a lot.”

The business also includes daughter Katie, who manages social media, and daughter Hannah, who runs Ice Cream Emporium. The family owns Capital Coffee in Linden, Falcon’s Lair in Ripon and continues to expand its food ventures.

Looking ahead, the Manteca location is pursuing a beer license and has seen unexpected success with its wings—reportedly outselling Wingstop at some locations. With strong community support and a tech-forward approach, Gold Dust Pizza continues to grow while staying true to its roots: quality ingredients, family values, and a passion for doing things the right way.

The eatery is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. For more information visit https://www.golddustpizza.com/locations/gold-dust-pizza-express-manteca.
