Jimco truck stop in Ripon seeks to create seven hotel rooms

The City of Ripon’s Department of Planning and Economic Development received a project referral not too long ago to convert the existing second story of a retail building into a seven-room hotel.

The site for the proposed project is the trucking area – long known as the Jimco Truck Stop just off Highway 99 – at 1002 Frontage Rd.

According to the Minor Site Review, the first floor currently operates as a convenience store.

The applicant is looking to offer hotel accommodations specifically targeting truck drivers who “may already be utilizing the other businesses on site.”

The existing second story would be turned into a hotel with seven rooms, each with its own bathroom.

Any comments or conditions of approval for this project must be submitted to the Planning Department no later than 5 p.m. on Dec. 7.

Comments or requests for additional information can be emailed to www.mwinters@cityofripon.org.
