From left, valedictorian Sydney Ladrido and salutatorian Seeum Kim were announced as the top academic students for Sierra High’s Class of 2024.

They've earned the honor of being the top academic students for Sierra High’s graduating Class of 2024.

Sydney Ladrido and Seeum Kim are this year’s valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.

Ladrido, who earned the top spot with her 4.4 GPA, will be going to UCLA in the fall.

Kim had a 4.3 GPA. She’ll be attending Stanford University in the coming months, with plans to study Media Entertainment followed possibly by law school.

“I’m going to miss my own graduation,” said Kim, who is departing prior to the 7 p.m. commencement exercises Friday at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium for a family trip overseas.

She’s hoping to view the Sierra High graduation via livestream.

Sydney Ladrido is the daughter of Meredith and Les Wheeler. She’s looking forward to the upcoming graduation ceremonies and the memories.

“I’ll miss seeing my dad [SHS teacher Les Wheeler] every day and my friends,” said Ladrido, who is looking to major in Biology – as a pathway to pre-med – at UCLA.

At Sierra, she played varsity golf for the Timberwolves for three years, and served as president of the National Honor Society while also taking part in Link Crew, CSF, and Academic Decathlon.

Seeum Kim is the daughter of Taewook Kim and Hyojin Cho.

She, too, was busy during her high school days.

Kim was involved in various clubs and activities at Sierra High, including EQ Hacks, Bloom Institute, Roblox, 3D Model, and Digital Illustration.
