The City of Lathrop continues to take steps towards smoothing out the sidewalks otherwise known as trip hazards around town.
According to the latest Lathrop SMART newsletter, crews have been targeting areas with significant trip hazards by leveling the concrete to meet current safety standards.
These improvements are being completed in phases – additional sections of the city’s sidewalks will be addressed in the coming months.
The project is part of the City of Lathrop’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure while focusing on making the sidewalks safe for pedestrians.
“By addressing uneven sidewalks that pose a risk of falls and injuries, the city is taking proactive measures to foster a more accessible, walkable Lathrop,” the Spring 2025 newsletter noted.
As for residents, they can do their part by reporting sidewalk issues conveniently by downloading the city’s Lathrop CARES app on their cellphone.
This app allows for users to easily report problem areas directly to the Public Works Department.
Residents can still report those problem by phone, contacting the City of Lathrop’s Public Works Department at 209.941.7430.
