The Manteca Garden Club is gearing up for is 28th annual spring tour on Saturday, May 9.
They are in the process of securing residents willing to show off their backyard gardens.
Organizers of the Manteca Garden Tour promise a “fun, garden educational safe day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 9.
Proceeds from the garden tours support high school scholarships, school gardens and city beautification projects such as tree planting on Arbor Day and the rose garden at the Manteca Senior Center.
The garden club was established in 1954.
They meet monthly at Chez Shari sharing garden tips and activities. Find more information at mantecagardenclub.org and on FB too.

Legion dinner April 16
American Legion Post 249 is conducting a Texas Roadhouse drive thru/take out dinner on Thursday, April 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the post hall in the 200 block of East Yosemite.
The cost is $30 per dinner.
