Manteca Police staging Torch Run June 24 to fund Special Olympics

Manteca Police is staging a Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run in Manteca on Tuesday, June 24.

The 1.5 mile group run — described as being at a relaxed pace — will be escorted by the Manteca Police unit.

The course will go from the Waffle Café at 1021 N. Main St and end at the Manteca Police Department, 1001 West Center St. The run is from noon to 2 p.m.

This event raises vital funds for Special Olympics athletes in an event being staged in San Joaquin County.

The $45 registration includes a gray Torch Run T-shirt.

 The Manteca Police goal is to raise $2,000.
