Not enough dining options for you in Manteca?
The City of Manteca economic development department is working on that.
There are no less than six economic initiatives targeted for the upcoming fiscal year that starts July 1 that all or in part involve pursuing more dining options.
They include:
*Launching a mobile food cart entrepreneurship program.
*Conducting a restaurant and retail survey of the community to help guide the city’s business attraction efforts.
*Complete the acquisition of the Manteca Bedquarters property and implement a coordinated workplan to activate the site into an economic and community draw employing a joint effort with the private sector that is likely to include a dining element.
*Continue to advance the 100-acre family entertainment zone project by securing a potential developer, completing an environmental impact report master plan update and exploring infrastructure financing. One of the categories the FEZ is targeting is more dining options.
*Attract and retain shopping, dining, and entertainment businesses in Manteca through targeted outreach, marketing efforts and attending industry tradeshows.
*Revisit the mobile food vendor ordinance and conduct public outreach.
Other economic initiatives outlined during last month’s City Council goals and priorities for the upcoming fiscal year includes:
*Identify and initiate beautification and placemaking opportunities throughout downtown Manteca.
*Launching the “Make it Manteca” marketing and business attraction campaign using a website and social media.
*Supporting the downtown Manteca specific implementation plan and outreach.
*Continue to expand on business resource offerings through programs, workshops, and tools to help local small businesses grow and encourage entrepreneurship.
