The Manteca Historical Museum will be having its annual Holiday Open House Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

“Rumor has it that a special guest may be stopping by,” said Museum board member Mary Del Pino.

One thing’s for certain is that the museum located at 600 W. Yosemite Ave. will be completely decorated for the holidays and the Victoria “Vicki” Miller Gift Shop will be open during this time, offering some great shopping buys.

Members of the Manteca Historical Museum will be entitled to 10 percent off on their purchases – the gift shop features costume jewelry as well as antique pieces, a variety of Santas, and one-of-a-kind glassware.

Eric Culpepper was recently announced as the new president of the Manteca Historical Society.

He’s home-grown and is employed by the City of Manteca’s Parks & Recreation Department. According to Del Pino and others, Culpepper has “his finger on the pulse of Manteca groups and local activities for quite some time.”

His recent involvements include the “Words & Wine” event, which has been extremely successful and has helped with the growing memberships.

Culpepper, in addition, is been very optimistic about the future of the local museum.
