Manteca is going country on Thursday, Aug. 21, during this month’s Music on Maple event.

It takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. in the 100 block of North Maple anchored by the post office in downtown Manteca.

The City of Manteca Recreation and Community Services event includes food trucks and other vendors, live country music, a beer garden, and lasso demonstrations.

There will also be line dance demos.

There is free entry. No outside alcohol permitted.

Park-a-Palooza Sept. 13

The third annual Park-a-Palooza  in the Park is Saturday, Sept. 13, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Woodward Park.

Activities start at 5 p.m. with live music, food trucks, vendor booths and games.

There will be games for kids as well.

The event has free entry.

The recreation office has relocated to 295 Cherry Lane at the Manteca Senior Center.
