A $400 Red Robin order with a stolen credit ended up becoming a stint in jail for two people that are facing a host of criminal charges.

And police also took a stolen semiautomatic handgun and a “ghost” AR-10 – a semiautomatic rifle that shoots the same bullets as an AK-47 – off the streets in the process.

According to the Manteca Police Department, the incident occurred on June 1 when they were contacted by Red Robin in the Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley after a $400 mobile order was placed using a stolen credit card.

Manteca Police Detective Dave Brown, who is assigned to the organized retail crime, was in the area and monitored the two suspects as they pulled up in a white Chevy Malibu to pick up the order. Officers responded to the scene and contacted the two individuals.

Vincent Navarro, 43, of Oakland, and Mona Navarro, 41, of El Dorado County, were taken into custody for identity theft since the owner of the credit card used to purchase the food resides outside of the State of California. Vincent Navarro also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for traffic violations and had been arrested the day before the incident.

When officers searched the vehicle, they found a loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun in the glovebox in front of where Vincent Navarro had been sitting that had been reported stolen.

In the trunk of the vehicle officers found an AR-10 rifle that did not contain any serial numbers – making it untraceable. While the AR-15 is more well-known of the two rifles, the AR-10 uses a much bigger bullet similar in size to those used by Winchester .308 rifles.

Officers also found a half-pound of processed cannabis, and 4.5 pounds on unprocessed cannabis inside of the vehicle, and both suspects previously convicted of felonies. Both were taken into custody and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on a host of felonies.

Neither are currently in custody at the San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.
