A tip from the FBI led Manteca Police to arrest a local man on suspicion of being a child abuse material manufacturer and distributor.

Manteca Police Detective Phillips – who investigates Hi-Tech Crimes and Internet Crimes Against Children Cases – on Jan. 29 received an investigative tip from the FBI Utah Field Office regarding Edward King allegedly communicating online about child pornography, uploading, distributing, and producing child sexual abuse material.

King was arrested the following day at his work in Tracy.

A search of King’s Manteca residence and electronic devices yielded evidence of those crimes. Further investigation revealed King went to public places and took close-up voyeur style photographs of the intimate parts of females between the age of 5 to 15 years old.

King, 44,  previously worked in the Bay Area and had a prior arrest in Contra Costa County.

King was booked into San Joaquin County Jail for the charges of Penal Code Section 288(a), Penal Code Section 311.1(a), and Penal Code Section 311.11(c)(1).

Police indicated King’s picture is being released to assist in identifying outstanding victims that have either not yet made a police report or made a police report without knowing King’s name. The Manteca Police Department request that any victims or witnesses to King’s crimes contact Detective Phillips through the Manteca Police Department Dispatch at 209.456.8101: reference MPD 26-00483.
