The Lathrop Planning Commission will discuss the proposed construction of an 18,000 square foot private gymnasium on Wednesday, Dec. 17.

This is part of River Islands at Lathrop Phase 2 Project, specifically, the 1.46-acre site located at the southeast corner of Parito Emata Way and Groveland Avenue within the Woodlands East District.

At the 6 p.m. meeting in the City Council Chambers, 390 Towne Centre Dr., Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on Woodlands East Gymnasium prior to considering adopting a resolution to approve the Conditional Use Permit and Site Plan Preview application.

Thus far, an environmental review for the project as a whole was completed, certifying the Subsequent Environmental Impact Report for the River Islands at Lathrop Phase 2 Project.

The SEIR considered the full range of potential environmental effects of urban development of the entire River Islands project.

Included was the planned urban development of the Project Site.
