The value of private sector construction Manteca — fueled by two new shopping centers, a 100-unit apartment complex and 840 single family homes — topped $595 million in 2025.

Overall, 3,533 permits were issued for new construction and remodeling to roof replacement and adding solar systems.

Construction activity was part of the development services presentation of 2025 highlights in Manteca during the City Council’s priorities and goal setting workshop conducted last week for the fiscal year starting July 1.

Other highlights were:
*Completing the development agreement for the annexation of the 455 single family homes in the Union Ranch North project northeast of Del Webb that includes $24,500 per unit in community benefit contributions beyond growth fees.

*Obtaining property on North Main Street through a donation for the eventual replacement of Station 3 on Louise Avenue.

*Work on the downtown specific plan was started with the planning process getting underway in the next few months.

*The climate action plan — mandated by the state — was updated.
