Work on the Career Technical Education building at Ripon High is taking shape.
Andy Strickland, who is Ripon Unified School District’s Director of Facilities & Operations, reported at the April 8 Ripon Unified school board meeting the exterior walls of the two-story structure could be completed by the end of this month.
“There’s been a lot of progress,” he said. “Most of the steel framework on the outside of the building has already been done.”
Recent work on the CTE project led by CT Brayton & Sons Construction, in dealing with the off-and-on wet weather, also consisted of pouring concrete to the nearby existing ag building, Strickland added.
CT Brayton began construction on the CTE Center in November 2022, with RUSD hoping for completion in time for the start of the 2024-2025 school year.
The new CTE Center will accommodate a variety of career pathway courses, including classes in ag science, ag business, diesel mechanics, software & systems, and patient care, just to name a few.
Strickland’s facilities report from the April meeting included:
· Trees and benches being installed at Park View Elementary School during the spring break.
· Concrete work at Ripon Elementary School for a path-of-travel for the new classrooms.
· New asphalt on the playground at Weston Elementary School.
He’ll continue to provide updates on the work that’s being conducted at RUSD at next month’s school board meeting.
