The hiring of Superintendent Ziggy Robeson was among the highlights for Chad Huskey during his two terms as board of trustee for the Ripon Unified School District.

In fact, it was No. 1 on his list.

“It was the easiest decision we ever made,” said Huskey of the Robeson hiring at Monday’s monthly session.

For that, he credited her leadership quality along her ability to get along with everyone.

Huskey opted against reelection for this Trustee Area 1 seat.

He also gifted a stained glass art work of the RUSD logo for display in the District Office.

Huskey took pride in working with his colleague as they maneuvered RUSD through the events of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, he reflected fondly of the modernization that took place at Weston and Colony Oak elementary schools.

Both were made possible by voter-approved Measure G coupled later by other eligible funding sources – Huskey was proud to be part of the team that made it all possible.

Prior to his elected post, Huskey was an active member of the Site Council at both Ripon High and Colony Oak, and had initially served on the Measure G Oversight Committee.

He worked in the Information Technology department at a big company and taught both IT and business at the University of Phoenix and Chapman University.
