Ripon Fire district is rolling out mobile app
Ripon fire

The Ripon Consolidated Fire District is going digital.

Last week the agency announced that they had recently partnered with TheFireDepartmentApp.com to release a mobile app that will provide Ripon residents and those within the district’s coverage area with a wealth of information about the district and its operations.

The app, which is expected to be released soon, will be available for download on both the Android and Apple App Stores – allowing the district to join both Calvary Reformed Church and Ripon Christian Schools as entities with their own standalone cell phone applications.

According to a social media release announcing the development, the app will include an about us section with a history of the district, a staff directory, safety tips, an events calendar, weather with weather alerts, a photo gallery, and more.

For the last decade, government agencies across the country have been utilizing technological platforms as a way of promoting wider engagement with the community – an idea born out of a digital government strategy promoted by the Obama administration. More than one-third of all traffic to official government websites comes from mobile apps.
