Ripon fire

The Ripon Consolidated Fire District experienced a busy period earlier this week.

“Over the past 24 hours, Ripon fire responded to 11 service calls, including a four-vehicle collision on Highway 99 (on Monday),” RCFD posted via social media on Tuesday.

The response to the freeway incident consisted of a separate emergency involving a patient in severe respiratory distress was reported.

“Thanks to the timing of our shift change, off-duty personnel were able to respond to the second call immediately, ensuring both emergencies received prompt attention,” said local firefighters.

They added that instances of multiple, simultaneous calls for service are becoming increasingly common.

“This trend places significant demands on our available resources and emphasizes the need for proactive planning and community engagement to maintain effective emergency response,” said RCFD.

The fire district is inviting community members to share input on helping guide future operations by either attending an upcoming town hall meeting or participating in the 218 committee

“Community involvement is essential to ensure that the district’s priorities align with the needs and concerns of those we serve,” RCFD said.
