Ripon Fire town hall addresses possible tax assessment for district
Ripon fire

The Ripon Consolidated Fire District will host a Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 15.

The public is invited to attend the 6 p.m. session at Ripon Fire Station #3 at 1705 N. Ripon Rd.

According to Fire Chief Eric DeHart, a board meeting will be held prior to the Town Hall gathering to decide whether or not to go ahead with the benefit of an assessment tax measure.

“If agreed, that will be shared on Oct. 15,” he said on Wednesday.

A special tax was passed in the mid-1980s – it was “flat rate,” which remains the same as cost due to inflation continues to soar.

RCFD – seeking support from those 56 square foot service area – has continued on despite the limited resources and rising costs while providing quality services. This includes ALS (Advanced Life Support) paramedics.

The goal as always for RCFD, said DeHart not too long ago, is to “deliver the best services.”
