RIPON GROWTH
New warehouse planned for Ripon site
metal building

The Ripon Planning Commission approved a request for construction of a 15,000-square-foot warehouse at 1101 S. Acacia Ave.

Planning Director Ken Zuidervaart noted at the June 18 meeting that the proposed building with a 3,000 square foot mezzanine on the vacant 1.039 acre site will be "some type of packing and shipping business," he said.

While the plan showed signage, the applicant would be required to submit a separate sign permit application.

Zuidervaart told commissioners that he didn't know the name of the place off hand, adding that this business is currently in three different locations in Ripon and the owners were looking to consolidate.

As for the specifics, the warehouse will be constructed in the middle of the one acre lot about 72 feet from Doak Boulevard and about 30 feet from Acacia Avenue.

"The off street parking will contain 32 spaces and access to the site will be from a shared driveway with the nearby Power Play Hockey Arena," said Zuidervaart.

The building will be a 20-foot-tall structure with room for trucks to load and unload.
