Ripon High project adding portable classrooms gets OK
ripon high ag
The proposed career technical education structure will be built near the existing ag complex at the Ripon High campus.

Plans for the Ripon High Career Technical Education/Increment One relocatable classroom project are moving forward.

The Ripon Unified school board met Thursday to approve CT Brayton & Sons to provide the Lease-Leaseback services.

This agreement is a growing trend for school districts throughout the state.

Under a lease-leaseback agreement, a school district can lease its property to a developer for a nominal amount, allowing the developer to go forward with the project, and returning the property back to the school district upon completion.

Increment One, under the agreement, consists of site improvements – namely, new parking lot, walkways, utilities, landscaping, and driveways/fire lanes – three new classroom wood frame buildings, and rehabilitation to the existing buildings including conduit addition of RHS Building J and added panel in Building C.

The work here will help pave the way for Increment Two, which is the future two-story Agricultural Technology Center at RHS.
