Frank Ferral from the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce is scheduled to be at tonight’s Ripon City Council meeting.

The Ripon resident and former school board member will introduce the Standing Together Against All Regional Theft program at the 6 p.m. open session in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

Included will be an update on the program’s success throughout San Joaquin County.

STAART is a county and Chamber driven initiative designed to empower residents and businesses in the fight against retail theft through real-time technology, community engagement, and cross-agency collaboration, according to the staff report.

Central to the program is the FastSTAART mobile app which allows residents to report theft incidents directly to affected merchants.

STAART has plans of reginal expansion in an effort to create a network of participating cities to share data while enhancing business resilience.

The program will be a discussion item for elected leaders with no action necessary.
