Main Street Day is this Saturday in Ripon from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Look for a large variety of cars on display along historic downtown coupled with vendor booths, pet parade, activities for children, and plenty of entertainment.
The stage at South Walnut Avenue will have a lineup of the following:
· 9 a.m. – Ripon High Band and Choir.
· 10 a.m. – Pet Parade and Fashion Show.
· 11 a.m. – Blessner’s Tae Kwon Do.
· 12 noon – RHS Rock N Roll Club.
· 1:30 p.m. – Whiskey Fingers and Friends.
Those attending the 40th annual event sponsored by the Ripon Chamber of Commerce can kick off the day with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Ripon Lions Club in conjunction with the Ripon Consolidated Fire District.
Included will be a stack of pancakes served up eggs, sausage, and a beverage at Ripon Fire Station 1, 142 S. Stockton Ave., from 7 to 11 o’clock. Cost is $12 for adults, $8 for children age 7-12 – kids under 6 are free. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber office at 104 S. Stockton Ave.
Ripon Unified School District’s Family Fun Color Run is also part of the festivities, beginning at 8 a.m. Registration will be offered an hour earlier (7 a.m.) at Ripon High – proceeds for this event will help fund field trips, assemblies, and other activities for the local school district.
Students of the RHS chapter of Future Farmers of America will be managing the petting zoo while the Ripon Memorial Library will be offering books for sale.
The Pet Fashion Show is another highlight of Main Street Day.
