With more rain and strong winds in the forecast, the City of Ripon’s Public Works Department and the Ripon Consolidated Fire District are offering free sandbags to residents.
The limit is 12 bags per household while supplies last.
“Please take appropriate action to safeguard your property from rising levels, especially if your property has a history of flooding,” the city posted Tuesday on its website, www.cityofripon.org.
The self-serve sandbag filling station is located behind Fire Station No. 1 at 142 S. Stockton Ave. – use Nourse Street for access.
Included in the free sand and bags – those using this service are asked to bring their own shovel.
In the event of flooding, residents can contact Public Works at 209.599-2151 during business hours at City Hall or 209.59.2102 after hours or on weekend.
In case of emergency, please dial 911.
