The Ripon Police Department will host a series of bicycle safety rodeos in the coming months.
The annual Bike Rodeo will take place at the five Ripon Unified elementary school campuses, and will be led by School Resource Officer Gordon West and volunteers in the police services.
“Come learn how to ride your bicycle safely,” local police posted Monday on their social media page. “You will learn the ABC Quick Check, hand signals, the correct way to wear a helmet, and the rules of the road.
Include will be an obstacle course – those participating should make sure to bring their bikes.
The 2023 Bicycle Rodeo will be held at the following locations in town:
· Monday, April 17 – Park View Elementary School, 751 Cindy Dr.
· Wednesday, April 19 – Ripona Elementary School, 415 Oregon St.
· Monday, May 1 – Weston Elementary School, 1660 Stanley Dr.
· Monday, May 15 – Ripon Elementary School, 509 W. Main St.
· Wednesday, May 17 – Colony Oak Elementary School, 22241 W. Murphy Rd.
Each of the classes will be scheduled from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.
