The Large Unwanted Item Pick Up Program is currently underway in the City of Ripon.

Director of Public Works James Pease made that announcement at Tuesday’s Ripon City Council meeting.

The program, which replaced the Spring Clean Up Program in recent years, allows for residents to dispose certain large items along the curbside of their homes, with pick-up being provided within two business days following the verification of a confirmation number via email.

Unwanted items can be placed in the front of the curb – in a manner that does not obstruct the path of travel for both vehicles or pedestrians – by 7 a.m. on the scheduled pick-up day, but no earlier than the day before, according to the City of Ripon.

The program applies to residential utility customers, who may schedule one pick-up per year.

The limit is four large items per customer.

Large item pickups will apply only to those customers with a confirmation number.

The program will run through September.

Among the acceptable items are:

·         BBQ / Patio furniture – Outdoor couch, bench, patio umbrella, etc.

·         Exercise equipment – Bicycles, basketball hoops.

·         Carpet remnants / rugs – No larger than 5-by-5 feet and must be rolled and secured.
