Ripon Unified’s latest overall enrollment is currently at 3,318.
Those were the District Enrollment figures provided at the Nov. 10 school board meeting, covering the reporting the third month reporting period from Sept. 29 through Oct. 24.
Compare that to a year ago when RUSD’s enrollment was 3,404 – the local school district has 86 fewer students for this year at this time.
Ripon Elementary School led the five kindergarten-through-eighth-grade campuses with an enrollment of 463 students.
Ripona (460) and Weston (458) were right behind followed by Park View (450) and Colony Oak (430).
Ripon High led the way with 1,005 students – the Independent Study program (28) and Harvest High (24) rounded out the enrollment report.
Harvest High showed the most improvement figures in the Attendance Summary report, going from 98.80 percent from a year ago to the most recent 99.83 percent.
Park View and Colony Oak, meanwhile, were dead even at 97.54 percent attendance on the recent summary report for the comprehensive school sites.
Based on a tie-breaker, Colony Oak – at 96.47 percent (Park View was 97.14 percent) for that third month 2024-2025 – earned the RUSD’s Best Attendance honor.
Hires, resignations
Ripon Unified accepted 24 new hires and accepted three employee resignations.
The announcement was made by Human Resources Manager Krista Galvan at a recent school board meeting.
The resignations consisted of one each from Weston and Ripon elementary schools, and from the district office.
Among the new hires were paraeducator Elizabeth Merchant (Weston), campus supervisor Albino Moreno (Ripon High), and yard duty personnel David Garza (Colony Oak), Roxana Rainone (Ripona), and Virginia Garza (Ripona).
The others were added to the substitute pool.
They were: Tina Lujan (campus supervisor), Andrea Tran (food service), Jeremy Bradford (custodial), Jacob Ramirez (custodial), Lakshmi Henna Battan (certificated), Tracy Beck (certificated), Kristen Becker (certificated), Amy Bullock (certificated), Katherine Del Don (certificated), Haris Demidzic (certificated), Kathryn Faull (certificated), Jill Guimont Paddack (certificated), Karishma Jain (certificated), Rajitha Kanakamedala (certificated), Niruvick Macias (certificated), Josh Marlin (certificated), Shauna Settlemoir (certificated), and Cynthia Berchtold (certificated).
In addition, Crystal Clayton was brought on as a temporary certificated teacher.
