Ripon Unified enrollment unchanged from year ago

The Ripon Unified District Office

Ripon Unified’s enrollment for the second month of this school year mirrors that of September 2024 at this time.

In some areas, there was some decline in numbers, noticed school board President Jason Winter at a recent monthly session.

Dana Phelps, who is the district’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction, believed part of the reason for that could be families moving out of state. At Colony Oak Elementary School, she noted three families, for example, did just that for unspecified reasons.

Colony Oak’s enrollment numbers for the reporting period of Sept. 9 through Sept. 26 was 418 for the kindergarten- through- eighth- grade site or 23 fewer from a year ago.

The total enrollment for RUSD for that second month of the 2025-2026 school year was 3,337, equaling a year ago figures.

Ripon High reported 977 students, which was 51 fewer (1,028).

By contrast, Ripon Elementary only had five fewer students from last year at this time at 446. As for the other school sites, Ripona tallied 457 (minus-16 from 2024-2025, second month reporting), Park View recorded 445 (minus-13), and Weston had 443 (minus-12).

Meanwhile, the Independent Study program and Harvest High, RUSD’s alternative education site, did report positive enrollment numbers.

Independent Study had 14 more students at 32 while Harvest High was up by five with 21 students.
