Ripon Unified welcomed five new hires at Tuesday’s school board meeting.
The announcement was made by Human Resources Manager Krista Galvan, who also mentioned one resignation during her August report.
The new hires for the 2025-2026 school year included certificated teacher Jessica Elkins, Ripona Elementary School Instructional Aide Elicha Chavez, Colony Oak Elementary School yard duty personnel Maria Padilla De Luna, and Food Services substitutes Bernice Arcos and Tanya Campos.
The monthly session also had Chief Business Officer Michelle Blackwood speak on the funding agreements between RUSD and the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District Zero-Emission School Bus Replacement incentive program funding agreement, calling for one electric bus for now replacing that of an older school bus.
Both parties entered into an agreement for the replacement in August 2024.
