How were the water conservation efforts for the City of Ripon in July?

Public Works Director James Pease provided those encouraging numbers at a recent Ripon City Council meeting.

He reported water usage was once again down – try 27 percent compared to the pre-drought 2013 water levels, and 14 percent from the July 2024 figures.

Residents and businesses within city limits can continue to monitor usage for the next few months with a three-day-a-week watering schedule.

For those properties with “odd” numbered addresses, they’re allowed to water their landscape on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays while those “even” ending numbered addresses may do likewise on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

No watering is allowed on Mondays and anytime between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

In addition, the city prohibits those from hosing down driveways, sidewalks, patios, parking lots, aprons, and other exteriors surfaces for the exception of sanitation, public health and safety, and fire protection purposes.
