Fireworks booths have been popping up in Ripon, Manteca, and Lathrop.
This is all in preparation for the sales of safe and sane fireworks that begins this weekend, benefitting the various non-profit organizations.
Safe and sane, according to the Ripon Consolidated Fire District, are the ones that stay on the ground and do not explode or shoot into the air.
Among the safe and sane are sparklers, fountains, smoke bombs, and snaps, to name a few.
Mortars, bottle rockets, and firecrackers are examples of the illegal fireworks, which can be dangerous, lead to fines, or cause injury.
Phantom and TNT fireworks will be on sale at the following Ripon locations while benefitting these nonprofits:
· Save Mart, 1453 Goodwin Dr. – VFW Post 1051, scheduled to open Saturday beginning at 12 noon.
· 318 W. Main St. – Ripon Knight youth football & cheer, opening at 12 noon Saturday.
· 206 S. Stockton Ave. – American Legion Post 190, opening at 12 noon Saturday.
· Coffee House, 150 N. Wilma Ave. – Ripon High FFA, opening at 12 noon Saturday.

· 600 W. Milgeo Ave. – Ripon House of Praise, opening Sunday, June 29.
