Rusty Clark, who was introduced as the new superintendent of the Ripon Unified School District, is joined by retiring superintendent Ziggy Robeson at Monday’s monthly session.

Rusty Clark was introduced Monday as the new superintendent at the Ripon Unified School District.

He officially takes over the duties as RUSD top administrator on July 1.

"Mr. Clark brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to education to this role," said RUSD in a press release.

The opening was made possible when Ziggy Robeson announced her retirement back in January after 11 years with the district.

Clark previously served as superintendent at the Pleasant Ridge School District in the Grass Valley area in Nevada County. He’s been there since 2013.

Prior to that, he worked at Twin Rivers Unified School District in Sacramento.

Clark was an executive director there, serving a large school district of over 24,000 students across 43 schools.
Ripon Unified has 3,400 students.

Clark, who began his educational career as a high school teacher in a small rural district in Illinois, also worked as a vice principal and principal at a middle school and high school in the Bay Area and the Sacramento Area.

He has a degree in Business Administration from The Master's University, a Vocational Educational Teaching Credential from UC Berkeley, an Administrative Credential and Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership from Cal State East Bay, and an Education Specialist Degree from Grand Canyon University.

Clark grew up on a farm in Illinois. He moved to California in 1990 after earning a college basketball scholarship 

He and his wife of 32 years Susie currently live in Elverta. They have three sons and a daughter and are active in 4-H Club events in north Sacramento County.
