The third annual Ripon Porchfest will take place Saturday, Aug. 2.
The Ripon Chamber of Commerce event – in collaboration with the Ripon Police Department and Greet Ripon Magazine, as part of the pre-National Night Out Unity in Our Community event – is more like a neighborhood party featuring a variety of local bands performing on the front porches of the participating homes.
Porchfest 2025 is a free and family-friendly afternoon event full of music and camaraderie, taking place from 12 noon to 5 o’clock.
Neighbors, guests, and local music fans can again walk or ride bicycles from house to house while enjoying these mini-concerts.
The guidelines are as followed:
· Pack it in & Pack it out – Feel free to bring an umbrella, chairs, drinks and anything to make for a comfortable outing. Those attending are asked to please respect the participating neighborhoods and porches by picking up trash, etc.
· Streets marked will be closed – Residents within the closed boundaries will have access, but foot traffic is expected to heavy during the event and may cause a delay for those coming and going.
· City of Ripon ordinances still apply – By that, no alcohol allowed on public streets or sidewalks, no food trucks / tents, and bands must set on private property.
· Bicycles are encouraged – For motorists, they’re advised to watched for pedestrians or bike riders.
· Low-speed vehicles – Golf carts and any street-legal vehicle must be driven by a licensed driver.
· Please bring cash – Some Porchfest participants will have organized vendors and fundraisers in their driveways. Don’t forget to tip the bands as special thanks for donating their time and talents.
· Support local businesses – Stop by one of the local restaurants and enjoy a late lunch or dinner after the event.
