Rotary staging 17th Super Bowl omelet breakfast

Shawn Nussbaumer and Charlie Halford are ready for the Manteca Rotary Super Bowl Sunday omelet-pancake breakfast on Feb. 11 at the MRPS Hall.

It could end up being the hottest ticket in town on Super Bowl Sunday.

The annual Manteca Rotary Super Bowl Sunday Omelet-Pancake Breakfast typically serves upwards of 1,000 omelets.

But with the San Franciso 49ers facing the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas for this year’s Super Bowl, a surge in ticket sales is expected as people in the past have traditionally used the omelet breakfast as a precursor to viewing parties in the afternoon.

The breakfast takes place Sunday, Feb. 11, from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the MRPS Hall, 133 N. Grant St., Manteca.

The $15 ticket covers a made-to-order omelet, pancakes, as well as orange juice or coffee.

There is also a raffle and a no-host bar featuring mimosas.

The MRPS Hall will be decked out in the colors of the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.

Tickets are available from Rotary members as well as J&J Printing.

The 17th annual breakfast is the service club’s largest fundraiser of the year.

As such it allows the Manteca Rotary to conduct the annual free community Thanksgiving dinner as well as enable the club to bring the Santa Hut along with Santa to downtown.

Proceeds also help fund scholarships for local graduating seniors as well as support non-profits such as the Boys & Girls Club.
