Dillan Saltsman is honored to work alongside members of the Ripon Unified school board.

As the new student board member, he’s practically a peer. Much like his elected colleagues, the Ripon High senior can weigh in and vote on many of the agenda items for the exception of personnel matters.

“I saw this as a great opportunity for me to get involved,” said Saltsman prior to Monday’s monthly session in the Council Chambers.

He’s the voice of the students throughout the district.

Saltsman, for example, reported on the latest happenings at RHS as well as Park View, Colony Oak, Weston, Ripona and Ripon elementary schools.

“I’m looking forward to visiting all of the elementary school sites,” he said.

Saltsman attended Weston.

No surprise that he’s quite active at RHS. “I’m involved in several clubs including the Environmental Club, Speech & Debate, and Leadership,” Saltsman said.

As for his plans after graduation?

“I’d like to go to either Stanford or UC Berkeley – I know I’m aiming high,” Saltsman added.
