The first of two Lobo Gold Rallies were held last week at Sierra High.
Honored at the student achievement event were a total of 969 students who went above and beyond in demonstrating the school’s core values.
Of that, 192 earned Lobo Gold by sporting a 4.0 grade point average or better. Another 458 were recognized with Lobo Silver for achieving a 3.25 GPA or better while 319 were honored with Lobo Blue for maintaining a 2.25 GPA plus.
They filled up the SHS large gym joined by Manteca Unified dignitaries consisting of Superintendent Clark Burke, Assistant Superintendent Clara Schmiedt, Assistant Superintendent Melanie Greene, school board President Stephen Schluer, board Clerk Marie Freitas, and Trustee Denise Mathews, to name a few.
Besides the individual recognition, students, teachers, and staff at the Fall Lobo Gold Rally were entertained by dancers in the Black Student Union and Asian Pacific Islander clubs along with a performance from the SHS a cappella group.
The Lobo Gold Rally will also be held in the spring.
It’s there that school officials keep up with tradition by announcing the top graduating students earning valedictorian and salutatorian honors.
