A passport office is now located in the South County.

And its thanks to efforts by San Joaquin County Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk Steve J. Bestolarides.

The newly expanded Recorder-County Clerk satellite office in Lathrop now serves as an authorized U.S. Passport Acceptance Facility, offering both passport application processing and photo services. The addition of these services provides residents with a more convenient local option for obtaining or renewing passports.

“This expansion reflects our continued commitment to bringing vital services closer to the communities we serve,” said Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk Steve J. Bestolarides.

“By adding passport processing in Lathrop, we’re helping residents save time and travel while ensuring they receive the same level of quality service our office is known for across San Joaquin County.”

The Lathrop Passport Office will operate on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will be available by appointment only.

Appointments can be made by calling (209) 941-5051. An online scheduling system is currently in development and will be launched soon for additional convenience.

The grand opening ceremony was held on Nov. 12 at the Lathrop office located at 390 Towne Centre Drive and included community members, local officials, and staff who celebrated the new service expansion and the County’s continued efforts to improve public access to essential services.
