What’s up with the prep sports for this school year?

Trustees of the Ripon Unified School District will hear the latest from the California Interscholastic Federation on the proposed plan for the return of athletics at Monday’s 7 p.m. open session in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

The meeting will be available to the public via livestream (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCpUWbW1dQJHIH7Jun7fh5g/live).

Ripon High Athletic Director Rod Wright and Principal Keith Rangel are scheduled to be on hand to provide the update on CIF Sac-Joaquin Section plan amid the current COVID-19 pandemic.

In other agenda items:

  • Board members will recognize Chief Operation Officer Frank Jerome on his retirement. He’s served the district for the past three years and five months.
  • They’ll hear from Abel Guillen of Caldwell Flores Winter Inc. on the Facilities Master Plan.
  • Superintendent Ziggy Robeson will give the latest update on the re-opening plan.
