String students play before Ripon board

Intermediate / Advance Strings students, under the direction of Sarah Gaipa, performed on violin and cello at the Ripon Unified school board meeting on Monday.

Music students in the Intermediate / Advanced strings were recognized at Monday’s Ripon Unified School District board meeting.

“They arrive bright and early each morning,” said district Music Director Sarah Gaipa, acknowledging the dedication of those students who performed on violin and cello.

A week ago, her beginning string students played before the school board, showcasing what they learned in such a short time.

Gaipa’s Intermediate / Advanced performed several numbers to school official and elected leaders at the session held in the Council Chambers.

Musicians in this group consisted of Violet Weidman (violin 1), Emilie Valles (violin 1), Emilia Hsieh (violin 1), Nate Lopez (violin 2), Autumn Quilantang (violin 2), Carmelo Rodriguez (violin 2), Ethan Hsieh (cello), and Heart Lopez (cello).
