Teen on off-road dirt bike pinned under semi-truck

A 17 year-old sustained serious injuries Tuesday when he collided with a semi-truck in the intersection of Main Street and Yosemite Avenue.

The teen was riding an off-road dirtbike style motorcycle on Main Street.

For a brief period, the juvenile was pinned under the semi-truck until first responders were able to extricate him.

He suffered serious injuries to one of his legs and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.  

The collision occurred about 4:51 p.m.

Based on witness statements, it appears the teen was travelling southbound in the 100 block of North Main Street and the semi-truck was making a westbound left turn onto Yosemite Avenue from the from the 100 block of South Main Street at the time of the collision.

The Manteca Traffic Unit is investigating the cause of the collision. The names of the parties involved are not being released at this time.  The semi-truck driver is 27 years old.

The dirtbike is an off-road motorcycle not registered to be driven on the roadway.
