THEY’RE INVESTING MILLIONS INTO MANTECA’S ECONOMY
Annual State of the City features speakers ranging from buyers of Orchard Valley to new bowling alley investors

The 2025 State of the City is featuring speakers who are literally investing tens of millions of dollars into Manteca’s economy.

Among the speakers for the Thursday, March 13, event at Great Wolf Resort are:

*Fritz Huber Jr. of the Grupe Huber Corp. that bought the Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley last year and are aggressively  marketing the city’s largest retail complex.

*Rod Scott who is part of the concern moving forward with the Ten Pin Fun Center and an adjoining wedding/banquet/event hall.

*Manteca Mayor Gary Singh.

*Balraj Lal, Manteca Chamber board president and owner of Precision Automotive.

*Manteca Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Joann Beattie.

Tickets for the event are $20. They are available through the Manteca Chamber of Commerce office in the 600 block of West Yosemite Ave. or online at www.manteca.org/stateofthecity.

Doors open at 9 a.m., breakfast is served at 9:30 a.m., and the program begins at 10:30 a.m.

The city will also stream the program on its website.

This year’s theme is “Honor Our Roots, Elevate Our Future.

Mayor Singh aid the goal is to “honor Manteca’s rich history while embracing new growth and opportunities.”

The event will also highlight upcoming initiatives and community priorities.

Grupe Huber purchased the 54-acre Orchard Valley complex with 760,000 square feet overall where Sutter Health is now making tenant improvements in a 17,500 square-foot building neat JC Penney. The group medical clinic is scheduled to open later this year.

The firm is in the process of updating the center’s facade.

Grupe Huber’s portfolio includes retail, apartments, offices, and industrial.

They also manage University Park — a master plan development on the old state hospital grounds near St. Joseph’s Hospital catering to healthcare, education, and commercial tenants.

Their largest retail complexes besides Orchard Valley are the Marina Shopping Center and Quail Lakes Shopping Center. Both are located in Stockton.

Scott is involved with the entertainment/event center complex the city has approved for 7.18 acres of on the stretch between the curves on Atherton Drive between Airport Way and Union Road.

It consists of two buildings:

*A 2-story banquet hall/events center consisting of 54,900 square feet.

*A 40-lanebowling alley/family entertainment center involving 82,009 square feet.
