The Ripon Consolidated Fire District celebrated one new addition along with a promotion and recognition.

Promoted was Chad Cheek, who is now captain. RCFD recently bid farewell to former captain paramedic Josh Bodeson.

Firefighter Marcus Rivas was recognized for completing the San Joaquin County EMS Agency Paramedic Program. He was honored as firefighter paramedic at a special event held at Ripon Fire Station 1.

“Over the past 18 months, Marcus has dedicated hundreds of hours to training and education in order to reach this important milestone in his career,” said RCFD via social media.

RCFD welcomed firefighter paramedic Colby O’Brien, who came to RCFD via AMR in Stanislaus County.

He began his EMS career as an EMT over three years ago. This set the foundation for his transition to paramedic, according to RCFD.
