This year’s Crossroads Street Fair & Watermelon Festival is adding a second day of car shows during the 30th annual event taking place Saturday-Sunday, June 6-7, in downtown Manteca.
The Manteca Community Emergency Response Team affiliated with the police department is staging its usual classic car show that Sunday.
New this year on Saturday is a car show featuring lowriders and Volkswagens.
The additional car show is being organized by the Manteca Chamber of Commerce.
Both car shows will take place in the 100 block of North Main Street.
With 10 weeks to go, all but 30 of the available 300 plus booth spaces have been taken.
None of the remaining spaces are available for food vendors as the 30 dedicated spaces have already been snapped up.
Craft vendor spaces are $215 for chamber members and $240 for non-members.
Commercial booths are $260 for chamber members and $310 for non-members.
Information only non-profit booths are $170 for chamber members and $220 for non-chamber members.
The Manteca Chamber of Commerce sponsored event attracted more than 40,000 visitors over two days last year.
The free admission event takes place both days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
It also features live music performances, a kids zone, a beer garden, and watermelon related contests.
The Watermelon Festival part of the street fair was launched five years ago.
San Joaquin County in 2024 produced 36.7 percent of California’s watermelons.
The majority of the watermelons are grown in the greater Manteca area.
San Joaquin is by far the largest county for watermelons in the Golden State yielding 43,900 tons from 1,880 acres for an overall crop value of $19.3 million.
