It was a busy weekend for the City of Lathrop Police Department.
Saturday, in particular, when officers were dispatched to Bizzibe Street and Honey Place for a traffic collision involving an overturned vehicle.
It was there that a 38-year-old Stockton woman had collided with a parked car, causing her vehicle to flip.
She was transported to the hospital with pain complaints.
The woman reportedly assaulted an officer with her knee while at the hospital, and was later arrested on charges of a DUI and assaulting a peace officer.
On that same day, local police received a call about a suspicious individual loitering in front of a residence in an area near Lathrop Road and Cambridge Drive.
Officers responded to the scene and made contact with the subject identified as Vincent Gene Jordan, 42, of Lathrop.
“Records check revealed that Vincent was a registered sex offender who had failed to update his registration as required by law,” said Lathrop police via social media.
Upon further investigation, police determined that Vincent had been out of compliance for several months.
He was taken into custody without incident and booked into San Joaquin County Jail on charges related to failure to register as a sex offender, which is a felony offense.
On Friday, officers responded to an incident involving a vehicle fire on Paradise Avenue near River Islands High.
“A big thank you to the Lathrop-Manteca Frie Department for quickly extinguishing the flames,” police said.
There were no reported injuries as the everyone inside the vehicle made it out safely before the fire started, police noted.
