Are you looking for that last-minute gift for that hard to buy for friend or family member?

Look no further than your local nonprofits. How about tickets to one of Manteca’s quality events? All you have to do is call the Manteca Convention & Visitors Bureau at 823-7229 and the tickets or a gift certificate can be ready for you to present on Christmas Day.

Here are just a few ideas that we hope will help you find the perfect gift.

• CRAB FEED TICKETS: Two of the best are the Manteca/Lathrop Boys & Girls Club on Jan. 16 or the 209 BMX Crab Feed on Feb. 13.

• SUPERBOWL OMELET BREAKFAST: This is the perfect way to kick off Superbowl Sunday on Feb. 7. This event is a sell out so get your tickets early.

• WOMEN'S CONNECTION: Feb. 5, this day-long event will feature keynote speaker Mike Midgley from the hit TV show Top Chief and Kathy Garver from Family Ties. Also included in the jam-packed day will be 10 breakout sessions, fashion show and tradeshow.

• POKER TOURNAMENT FOR SENIOR OLYMPICS: Are you a poker player looking for a great game for a good cause? Then support the senior athletes and the Senior Games by playing in this tournament on May 15.

• BEST OF MANTECA: Help honor the best of the best in Manteca at this outstanding event scheduled for May 6.

• NIGHT OF KINGS & QUEENS: This casino night has become one of the highlights of the year in Manteca. Call now to secure your spot at the table for Sept. 25.

These are just a few of the events that are being held by your local nonprofits. You might also look to other clubs and organizations, churches and schools for fundraisers that they have planned for 2010.

This is an extremely difficult year for many charities and by purchasing tickets you are not only completing your Christmas shopping but you are making a much needed donation to help others in our community.
