The Christian duo, Angels in Our Eyes, will be performing at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 23 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

The duo consisting of Catherine Gotschall Rowe and Ray Silvia will perform a 90- minute concert featuring songs from their soon to be released sixth and seventh CDs.

A native of Manteca, Catherine attended St. Anthony’s parish and St. Anthony’s Catholic School.

“I remember the nuns in their habits, going to daily Latin mass before school, and singing in the choir,” she said.

The Manteca community sponsored teen aged Catherine and two other girls from the area to go to New York to audition for Up With People. She toured the USA and Canada with Up With People for a year and was the first graduate of Up With People Traveling School. Catherine graduated from Manteca High School in 1968.

Catherine is the daughter of the recently deceased Babe Gotschall and sang the Ave Maria at her funeral.  The duo will be debuting a song Catherine wrote about her mom called, “Missing You.” Their sixth CD is a live concert from the Christmas Festival of Lights in the Chapel of Mary at the Grotto in Portland.

The duo performs community service by doing concerts for handicapped children, seniors, Oregon Park Service, little theaters, and fairs in Oregon.  They have participated in variety shows to raise money for abused children, an orphanage in India, and food programs for the needy.  They produce and distribute CDs on their own label (Aenon) and donate the proceeds to many causes.

Their concert tour in California begins July 15 in Fresno and ends in Mt. Shasta on July 25.

Their songs are in many styles and recently began to include country gospel.  They have over 150 songs now written between them.

All proceeds from the July 23 concert at St. Anthony’s will benefit St. Vincent de Paul’s and the Manteca Pregnancy Help Center.
