It’s time to get into the swim of things again.

Manteca Parks and Recreation – which provided 1,800 youth swimming lessons last summer – is again offering standard week-day group sessions as well as private lessons.

The one-on-one classes are ideal for people who have children who need more work on specific moves as well as for adults, and special needs kids.

Private lessons work well even for commuters who can’t get their kids to the regular lessons.

Private swim lessons will take place at the Lincoln Park or East Union High pool. All lessons are based on instructor and pool availability. The fee is $25 per resident per lesson and last 40 minutes each. Request the date you would like a week prior and if Manteca Rec is unable to fulfill the request you will be notified.

Manteca offers eight skill level and age classes for group swim lessons at Lincoln Pool and the East Union High Pool.

There are four remaining week day lessons: June 8-18, June 21-July 1, July 5-15 and July 19-29  over two weeks Monday through Thursday for 35 minutes apiece.

The lessons take place at 9 a.m., 9:40 a.m., 10:20 a.m., 11 a.m., 11:40 a.m., 5:10 p.m., 5:50 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7and 7:10 p.m.

The cost is $37 per session for Manteca residents and $47 per session for non-residents.

To register for Manteca Parks and Recreation classes you can go online at www.mantecagov.com/parks, fax registration by calling (209) 456-8600 – credit card payment required, or walk-in registration Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or every other Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 252 Magnolia Lane
